You may have been brushing from the feet up. If so, you might want to consider trying out my new method of skin brushing, which starts from the upper chest. Why? Because that’s where the lymph flows back into the venus system after being cleansed by the lymphatic system.

Buy a brush

Choose a plant fiber brush. You don’t need to spend a lot of money. The brush should have firm but not scratchy bristles (that’s why plant fiber is best) that move your skin slightly when you brush. You don’t want a wimpy brush!

Learn the routine

My new method starts from the upper chest – where the newly-cleansed lymph drains back into the venus system. It’s more effective than the old method, which starts at the feet. You can learn the full routine in my book, ‘The 10-Day Skin Brushing Detox’.

Start slowly

This is the key to dry skin brushing without side-effects. If you brush too frequently at first, you could be overloaded with detox symptoms – which aren’t pleasant. Take it slowly, get your body used to it, and you’ll actually progress much more quickly.

Make it a habit

Make it a habit that you love. Enjoy spending time on yourself – your most valuable possession. Brushing your skin can become as habitual as brushing your teeth. Make it an event, though, and it becomes a vital self-care routine that can invigorate or relax, depending on how you do it.
